Collaborations

Some of the most exciting new products are collaborations. A cosmetic company and a toy company, a skincare range and a fashion designer, a makeup line and a functional food. The collaboration between Estee Lauder and Tom Ford proved to be a huge success. Now it seems that there many designers and fashion houses interested in entering the world of beauty. Collaborations between cosmetic companies and celebrities have also shown to be successful. Look at the multitude of celebrity fragrances there are; with new fragrances being announced everyday. Here are a few collaborations that I am excited about.
Barbie Loves MAC
Millions of women grew up loving Barbie. After cutting Barbie's hair I decided to cut my own, much to my mother's shock and dismay. Memories and nostalgia for my days of playing with Barbie have made me very excited for these new Barbie Loves MAC products. The colors were inspired by Barbie and the cute etching of Barbie and her fifties ponytail are featured on the products themselves. This collaboration has been buzzed about for months and is finally available for purchase.
CARE by Stella McCartney
Fans of Stella McCartney fashion and fragrances are sure to be excited about the debut of the Care by Stella McCartney luxury organic skincare range. The products are made from 100% organic active ingredients, so women who use natural product are sure to be excited.
There is a Discover Set available at Sephora for $38, which enables consumers to try out the products.

Tarte Inside Out Vitamin Lip Gloss
Tarte has teamed up with BORBA for this new pomegranate-scented lip gloss. This pomegranate-scented lip gloss is not only intended to give you pretty hydrated lips, it is actually supposed to be good for you. Tarte' s specialty is making women look pretty on the outside and BORBA's specialty is helping women look pretty from the inside. This is all made possible through the use of ingredients from BORBA's Age Defying, Replenishing, and Clarifying lines. Some of you may be familiar with other BORBA products, but if not, here are a few to check out. BORBA's Skin Balance Waters and Aqua-Less Crystallines are said to be the first skin care nutraceutical beverages worldwide. The website describes them as "'skin-gestibles' or ingestible skin care in a delicious water or powder packet form." They also have gummies, chocolate bars, and jellies that are supposed to be good for the skin.Guerlain and Pucci
Guerlain has announced that a new limited edition color cosmetics collection with Emilio Pucci will be available in May. Announcing this collaboration so early is sure to inspire the kind of buzz that ensures wait lists, and sell outs; which inevitably leads to consumers purchasing the products on Ebay for ridiculous prices. We are all hoping more sell out collaborations are in the works!
